Welcome to Long Live Ianto!

It's a community where we can ignore canon and have lots of fun with our favorite character - Ianto Jones, and our favorite couple - Ianto and Jack.

I find myself reading more fics where Ianto has special qualities about him - either he's telephathic in some way, or a wizard or even just simply immortal. The thing is that I hate what canon gave us for Ianto, and I believe his story is far from over. I also feel as if there was more potential to the character than what we got. The same goes for his relationship with Jack.

I mentioned it to bookwrm89. Yeah, I did. To Enabler Supreme Herself. I shouldn't be surprised that before I knew it, the start of this comm was created. Now we're doing the rest to get it ready. And it just happened with no regard to the date (I'm horrible at keeping track of the dates, sometimes even months and years), but it does seem perfect that we're kicking this off on Gareth David-Lloyd's birthday. So yeah... party time!

Our gorgeous header is made by the lovely and most talented cjharknessgirl. She even made us a Mod Post icon too! *hugs* Sweetheart! We <3 u!!!

Fanfiction Recs

Use this post to rec your favorite fics that keep in style of the comm. We only ask one thing of you when you rec - please put the type of fic it is in the subject line (ie: immortal Ianto, vampire Ianto, telepathic Ianto, etc.). Tag if you want, but if you don't we'll go back and tag according to your subject line.

At some point, if we have enough recs, we'll do a master list sorted by the type of long living Ianto fic.

It's awesome to see that this comm just might have been needed, if I judge by the number of new members on only the first day. Way much more than 9 of us. That makes me happy!

However, someone went beyond the call for this comm and did something wonderful and beautiful. We're not even 24 hours old (I count from when I started to pimp around) and some lovely, generous person gave us a paid account for the next year. Whoever you are, so many *HUGS* and thank yous to you! I'll be heading to bed soon with a great big smile.

I should also take a moment to say how floored I am at how the membership grew so far. Please, don't be shy in reccing your favorite fics that fit this comm. And if you are currently posting a WIP that would fit here, don't forget us when you post your next chapter.

I think by next weekend, if anyone is interested, we'll start April with a challenge. I'll be getting together with bookwrm89 over the week and see what we can come up with.
